You are wrong on so many levels. I have been playing COD since the ORIGINAL COD for PC. I have logged in probably 20+ days in EVERY COD, except Modding Warfail 3 because it was just horrible.
This game actually has FASTER matches than any previous COD games as well ESPECIALLY in TDM due to the shorter time to kill (for core modes), smaller maps, and no re-spawn timer in HC modes....
...Again the reason why streaks are called in less is because for 1. people in TDM still think that kills are the ONLY way to get points. 2. Streaks don't stack and the players have to actually work for kills 3. the maps are smaller which means those players that would sit back and wait have less room to hide. 4. UAV's are spammed more than ever due to the fact that you get points now with assists and there is no real way to hide since Ghost has been pretty much rendered useless.
You mention variety, or lack thereof, in BO2. This I find really funny as BO2 has the MOST variety of any previous COD. With the pick 10 system and so many ways to earn points it seems that the problem is the mind numb players that refuse to change how they play the game. For those that have adapted and changed the way they look at things, the game is almost TOO EASY to call in streaks in TDM.
I play HCTDM 99% of the time, and my K/D hovers around a 3, my SPM is between 350-380 (depending on the week I'm having), and I have TONS of higher streaks called in. I have around 50,000 kills right now, and over 300 swarms called in, 250 dogs, 400 lodestars, 400 VTOLS, 800 VSATS, 1000 choppers, and 500 EMPS. Trust me, the problem is NOT the points that you get for killing enemies, its the fact that players only rely on points from kills.
It's not that hard to use Engineer, Scavenger, EMP grenades, and a little map knowledge to boost that point total.
First I'm glad you have a more non-condescending tone in this post. At least you absorbed part of my post.
Again, it's about preferences, isn't it. Although I don't think it's necessary for the subject here to know your precise stats, I'm glad you are successful playing with what you prefer to be the best way for you. Although I don't disagree that they can get you more scrore points, personally, I never liked spamming the tacticals and nads, there are enough noobs hail marry'ing those already. And don't even get me started on how ridiculous some tactical are in themselves. Point is, while you prefer to use tacticals ,etc., to get points, I prefer to not and just do it the AR way--this way is faster and this way speeds up the game. Again, it's about preferences.
You completely miss my point about variety. What I mean is variety in game action; i.e., mix it up, instead of camper v. camper, rusher v. rusher and rusher v. camper, throw in a VSAT or Lodestar to get the campers rushing and the rushers (if they have any brains if a VSAT's up) camping. Your Pick10 example is completely off point.
As for the frequency of streaks called in, you have to realize that SEVEN kills was the max for a streak in World at war, which is only 2 more kills than a UAV in BO2 (if only using kills) and streaks STACKED in MW3, meaning that you could literally get a predator missle, get a few kills from that, and get another streak and be close to the AC-130.
Precisely, you unwittingly further illustrated my point. While it took, for example, 7 kills for W@W dogs, it takes, for example,1200 pts. for BOII VSATs. In AR, you'd get it after about 8-9 kills. What does this mean in our comparason. It means that AR puts the number of kiils required to get higher streaks in BOII closer to parity with required kills in W@W TDM, along with TDM in other previous titles. See what I'm saying. I talk about this in my linked thread above, did you read it?
I was reading an article not too long ago about average length of matches and the average time for a TDM game in BO2 (core) is around 6:30, and in HC 6:45. In BO, MW3 the time was 7:10 (core) and 8:45 in HC.
Sounds like an interesting article, care to link or reference it.
As far as stacking is concerned, you can stack score points too. I don't seechow this supports what you're trying to say.
As far as map knowledge being essential to being an effective player. Won't disagree with you here. But, again, how one uses that knowlege will depend on preference.
To each his own...unless you feel yours is superior to all others.
