The "futuristic" and Halo references are not about time, decades, nor centuries. It is not about weaponry in development nor forthcoming advancements in technology. What it IS about is science fiction and what comes with it. When people complain that it "looks like Halo", that translates to " I don't want Halo style gameplay". Halo style gameplay translates to undesirable SciFi exploits, namely: the Halo Hop, cloaking, laser guns, laser knives, hovercraft, etc. If you like that crap, then go play Halo. If you don't like that crap, you can play CoD. If you bring SciFi garbage into CoD, then you take the option away from people who play CoD because it is not SciFi. Why does CoD have to be bastardized? It is very simple. Keep your Halo OUT of my CoD.
